The world’s leading innovation platform, UK based Wazoku, has acquired the research spinout company Mindpool co-founded by ITU researcher and expert on the field of collective intelligence, Carina Antonia Hallin.
Mindpool captures employee and citizens predictions using AI algorithms, that provide actionable insights and ideas based on this collective intelligence, all geared to improving organisational performance and assessing overall company health using quantitative and qualitative data inputs. The Mindpool team will join the Wazoku business as part of the transaction.
Wazoku works with global enterprises such as NASA, Enel, HSBC, Shell and more to help them innovate at scale. According to Carina Antonia Hallin that makes Mindpool, which she founded along with serial entrepreneur Mik Thobo-Carlsen and renowned architect Bjarke Ingels in 2019, an excellent fit for the company.
"Wazoku and Mindpool are organisations with complementary technologies and approaches to collective intelligence, crowdsourcing and innovation. This couldn’t be a better fit, and I am excited to see what the two companies can achieve together,” says Carina Antonia Hallin, who has worked with validation of collective intelligence and decision support systems for organizations and governments for several years.
Mindpool powers the Global Mindpool platform that connects the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) with citizens worldwide through the Don’t Choose Extinction programme. The campaign features a collective intelligence platform, the Global Mindpool, to help tackle the most important issues of our time. Linking insights from around the world – on the climate emergency, the crisis in nature, and inequality – the Global Mindpool will support UNDP to better inform and equip policy makers in government, civil society, and the private sector. Don’t Choose Extinction was launched at COP26 with the campaign video having over 4bn views globally.
Carina Antonia Hallin is the Founder and Research Coordinator of the Collective Intelligence Group at the IT University of Copenhagen (ITU), a part of the Information Systems and Digital Innovation at ITU, and co-founder of the Academy of Management’s Community for Knowledge Integration, Synthesis and Engineering. She has published in the fields of collective intelligence and management, decision support systems, artificial intelligence, and within computer science.
