Test Policy
The IT University uses tests during the recruitment process. For scientific staff test will be used when recruiting for positions as assistant professors and above. For technical administrative positions test will be used at all levels, exceptions are positions reserved students. Tests will be used for positions with duration of more than 1 year.
If an employee has completed a test during a recruitment process, a new test must only be conducted in the event of a position change if the new position is in a different position.
Various types of tests
Dependent of the vacant position ITU uses the test `Focus Styles´ which takes about 15 minutes to complete or `Professional Styles´ which takes about 45 minutes to complete. The test is a self-description test, through which it is possible to form a profile of the candidate based on the answers given to the questions. The profile will indicate the candidate’s work-related preferences, needs, and abilities
In connection with the use of tests on candidates ITU follows the methodically and ethically developed guidelines for professional person evaluations put up by VPP Center for Knowledge of Professional Assessment.
In order to secure a professional process in connection to the test analysis and feedback it is only test certified employees who analyse the results and give the candidates feedback on the completed tests.
Test results are handled confidentially
All test results are handled and stored confidentially. It is only test certified employees who have access to the test results. The hiring manager will be informed about the result in connection with the test feedback to the candidate.
The test result alone will not give a full picture of the candidate but will be used as a tool for dialogue during the feedback. The test result will together with the personal interviews, references and assessment be the hiring committee’s basis for the decision on which candidate has the needed skills for the vacant position.
Test results can be sent
No later than 2 working days after the feedback the candidate can request to have a copy of the test result sent to their email. In case a candidate has the need to have the result elaborated orally, the candidate can address the employee who is responsible for the test feedback no later than 8 working days after the feedback was given.
The result of the test will only be used for recruitment purposes. All test results will be filed according to the law concerning Danish Data Archives. All test results will be handled confidentially.
