Martin Zachariasen becomes new Vice Chancellor of the IT University of Copenhagen
Martin Zachariasen, Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Southern Denmark, will be the new Vice Chancellor of the IT University of Copenhagen. He will assume the position on January 1, 2019.

51-year-old Professor of Computer Science and Dean at SDU, Martin Zachariasen, will head the IT University in Copenhagen from January next year.
Martin Zachariasen has twenty years of experience in research and education at university level and has been a manager for ten years – most recently as Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Southern Denmark and member of the university’s executive management.

He has deep insight into IT research and education, and an eye for the important role that IT University of Copenhagen plays in our society. Martin Zachariasen grew up in the Faroe Islands and has a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of the Faroe Islands. He moved to Copenhagen in 1991. He has an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Copenhagen and has since obtained both a PhD and a doctorate in Computer Science from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Copenhagen.
