Danish Foreign Ministry grant to fund workshop on blockchain

ITU Professor Roman Beck, who leads the newly founded European Blockchain Center, has secured a small grant of 88.000 Danish kroner from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.

The grant will fund a two-day workshop of researchers from Danish universities and research institutions as well as researchers from the German-speaking countries, in collaboration with industry.

The planned workshop aims for creating a blockchain research and education roadmap and prioritized agenda for the international scientific community concerned with investigating the new set of research challenges that emerge in the context of blockchain developments, in particular in the financial services industry. Topics for discussion will include governance, privacy and scalability issues around blockchain.

The workshop will be held in Frankfurt on November 30 and December 1, 2017. Participation is by invitation only.
