Cooperative enterprise may help tackle some of society’s greatest problems, chief among them a constantly changing labour market. Traditionally, cooperative enterprise has played an important role in Denmark, but the business form is marginalized today. The IT University research group Reflection and Action (Reflact) is working on changing that.

Danish startups and entrepreneurs lack knowledge of the potential in cooperative enterprise. The Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs’ taskforce on cooperative enterprise has published a new set of recommendations for legislators to address the problem. A team of ITU researchers has been instrumental in devising the recommendations by analyzing democratic entrepreneurship in Denmark.

ITU researchers get funding for epilepsy project

In a new project with Rigshospitalet, Lars Rune Christensen and Lene Nielsen will test and improve a new device for prevention of epileptic seizures. The Danish Epilepsy Association is funding the project.
