    PhD Seminar in Digital Games and Literary Theory

    PhD Seminar: Digital Games and Literary Theory

    Ivan Callus, Department of English, University of Malta.

    Course description:
    In connection with a workshop to be held on Malta 7-9th March 2012, thesis-writing PhD students who are using literary theories in the study of games are invited to apply for one of four available slots in a PhD seminar where you can present, discuss and get feedback on your ongoing work, as well as 4 ects (the European study credit).

    The seminar is free of charge, but you will have to fund your own travel and boarding. Inexpensive hotel room rates have been arranged in connection with the workshop.

    Will you create your own webside? No

    Prerequisites:
    Please send Costantino Oliva (costantino.oliva@um.edu.mt) the following:

    • A short CV,
    • 1/2 page abstract describing your work
    • Supervisor statement, testifying that you are enrolled in a PhD program and working with literary theories applied to games.

    For the seminar, you will prepare a 10-15 page (doublespaced) paper to be presented and given feedback, and also prepare by reading the seminar compendium.

    Date of the course:
    7-8 March 2012.

    Deadline:
    February, Friday 3rd. Notification: February, Tue 7th.
