ITU welcomes two new Associate Professors
New faculty members to strengthen ITU’s Information Management section.

The IT University of Copenhagen is strengthening its Information Management section with the appointment of two new Associate Professors. Both are joining the university from March 1, 2016.
Dr. Alexander Richter is joining ITU from the Department of Informatics at the University of Zürich, where he will still be heading the research unit “Digital Work Design”. Oliver Müller comes from a position as Assistant Professor at the Institute of Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein.
- The Information Management section is very excited about Alexander Richter and Oliver Müller joining ITU. Both have strong research backgrounds and will strengthen ITU in different ways. Alexander will support our work on digitalization and the future of organizations in networked economies, while Oliver will improve our ability to teach different courses in Big Data analytics and collaborate in that field with industry partners in Denmark, says Professor Roman Beck, head of the Information Management section.
Dr. Alexander Richter
Dr. Alexander Richter is head of the research unit “Digital Work Design” at the University of Zurich. He studies the increasingly differentiated practices of knowledge workers and designs sociotechnical solutions. Moreover, he is interested in the impact of social platforms on emergent structures such as informal networks and new forms of leadership or innovation. He is Chairman of the Special Interest Group "CSCW & Social Computing" in the German computer society and a member in the steering boards Human Computer Interaction and Information Systems.
Oliver Müller
Before joining ITU, Oliver Müller was Assistant Professor at the Institute of Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein. He holds an MSc in Information Systems and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Münster. The goal of his research is to help organizations and individuals to create value through big data and analytics. His research has been published in leading international journals, including European Journal of Information Systems, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, and Computers & Education. Oliver is also co-founder of MineMyText.com.
