Denmark’s first virtual reality conference was a big success
The student organisation ITU Innovators put on the first Danish conference on one of the hottest emerging technologies of the day.

Virtual reality is on everyone's lips at the moment, of course also at the IT University of Copenhagen, where 300 students, game developers and other techies showed up for Denmark's first conference on virtual reality on Tuesday. Virtual Reality Conference was organised by several ITU student organisations, spearheaded by ITU Innovators. The event had generated massive interest from both inside and outside the university, with the 300 tickets sold out after just 20 minutes.
“A lot of people have heard about virtual reality and some have already experienced it, but there hasn’t been a big event in Copenhagen showcasing the technology, so when we announced the conference a lot of people wanted to check it out. In ITU Innovators, we like playing around with emerging technologies, from wearables to internet of things and virtual reality, and see what we can create from them. Hopefully this conference will inspire some students to get started with virtual reality projects of their own,” said Vlad Gidea, Chairman of ITU Innovators.
The event kicked off with a two-hour virtual reality workshop in Atrium, where participants could test out the technology. Among other things, participants could play a game of selfie tennis at the VRUnicorns booth and experience different types of street lighting in a simulation created by Utopian City Scape.
The workshop was followed by presentations by VRDK, VRUnicorns, Khora VR and DigitasLBi. Watch all the presentations in the video below:
