Admission requirement: English B-level
The admission requirement for all ITU's master's programme is English language proficiency of at least B-level with a minimum of 3,0 in grade point average.
How to document English B-level
- You have passed a level-B English exam in the course of taking a Danish upper secondary school exam (or through supplementary courses).
- You have taken an English-language High School exam in Denmark, in another EU country, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Great Britain, USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand.
- You have taken an English language bachelor’s degree or a professional bachelor's degree in Denmark, in another EU country, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Great Britain, USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand.
You have a qualifying bachelor’s degree from a Danish university (not a professional bachelor’s degree if it is taught in Danish).
Please note: The university does not have the legal basis to grant exemptions from the English test requirement for applicants holding an upper secondary school certificate from a country outside the EU/EEA.
English test
It is also possible to document English B level by doing one of the following English tests:
- TOEFL paper-based test result: 560 minimum
- TOEFL iBT test result: 88 minimum
- TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition test result of at least 88.We do not accept “TOEFL MyBest Scores”
- IELTS (academic) test result: 6.5 minimum
- IELTS Academic (including online and UKVI versions) test result of at least 6.5. We do not accept "IELTS One Skill Retake".
- Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): passed
- Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): passed
The test result cannot be more than 2 years old. Please note, time limitation does not apply to CPE and CAE.
ITU's university code for tests
The university code for TOEFL is 9015, department code: 99. You will need this code when you sign up for a TOEFL test. No code is needed for IELTS.
You can apply without having a test beforehand
It is possible to apply before you have completed any necessary language proficiency test or supplementary courses. Instead, you must: Upload documentation for being called to the test or being admitted to the course. No later than one month before study start, you must upload the results of the test or supplementary course in the application portal
If your result does not comply with the admission requirements, your admission will be annulled.
For Non-EU/EEA citizen
If you are not an EU/EEA citizen (and need to pay tuition fees), we must receive the result of a language test/supplementary course no later than three weeks after the application deadline. The test result must be uploaded in the Application Portal. If your result does not meet the admission requirements, your admission will be cancelled.
