Martin Tvede Zachariasen steps down as Vice-Chancellor
Martin Tvede Zachariasen steps down as Vice-Chancellor of the IT University after three years in office. Martin Tvede Zachariasen’s resignation takes effect December 31, 2021.
”I am proud of the creativity and good results of the IT University in the period I have been Vice-Chancellor and I wish the IT University all the best in the years to come,” says Martin Tvede Zachariasen.
“Martin assumed the position as Vice-Chancellor January 1, 2019. I would like to thank Martin for heading the IT University for the last three years. During this time, the IT University has been able to attract even more qualified students and has experienced a significant increase in external research funding. I wish Martin the best of luck in his future endeavors,” says Carsten Gomard, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Pro-rector Jens Christian Godskesen takes over
Pro-rector Jens Christian Godskesen is temporarily appointed Vice-Chancellor. Jens Christian has been a part of the Executive Management since he took office as Pro-rector on June 1, 2016. Prior to his appointment as Pro-rector, he served as Head of the Research Department for seven years. Jens Christian Godskesen has been an associate professor at the IT University since the university was founded in 1999.
Jens Christian Godskesen is 58 years old. He holds a degree in Computer Science and earned his PhD in Computer Science from Aalborg University in 1994. As a researcher, he has studied Models for Concurrent, Distributed, and Mobile Systems.
“I am happy to announce that Jens Christian Godskesen has accepted to serve as interim Vice-Chancellor. I and the Board of Directors look forward to working with him in his new role. Jens Christian has held key leadership positions at ITU for more than a decade and he has been a central player in the successful development of the IT University. Jens Christian is the right person to ensure continuity and his experience will be crucial in tackling the challenges ahead of us – especially with regard to creating further growth at the university,” says Carsten Gomard.
As of today, the Executive Management at ITU includes Jens Christian Godskesen and University Director Georg Dam Steffensen.
