The International Blockchain School is an initiative of the European Blockchain Center organised by faculty members from IT University of Copenhagen, Copenhagen Business School, Copenhagen University, and University of the Faroe Islands. The International Blockchain School 2022 is the fifth of its kind. Previously, the school has been very popular among both Danish and International students as well as the industry partners who contribute with insights and real-world scenarios.
- I met a lot of engaged students, and it was amazing to see their creative ideas, innovative approach and to learn more about Blockchain from other experts … We actually found several use cases for the students, which they are designing, and in the end we will implement them, says Roman Dahl, Nordea, who has previously participated as an industry partner at the International Blockchain Schools.
Knowledge sharing
The International Blockchain School focuses aims to educate PhD and master students in blockchain technology to develop solutions within different industries. The participants will learn how blockchain technology is disrupting existing business models and gain insight into paradigmatic changes from economic, organisational, and computer science perspectives. They will learn to analyse existing business processes and how blockchain-based solutions have the potential to disrupt them. In so doing, they will learn to co-create new blockchain-based systems, taking into consideration both cryptographic and economic aspects.
Professor and head of the European Blockchain Center, Roman Beck, sees the school as an opportunity to share knowledge between universities and the industry:
- It is very important that we are not only creating new insights and inspiring new, young researchers to work on that but also that the knowledge that has been created is shared, he says.
Nordic Blockchain Summit
On the last day of the International Blockchain School, the best student groups will present their projects at the public event, Nordic Blockchain Summit. The summit will also feature keynote speeches, a panel debate, and a reception.
