OpenITU: Creating a Sustainable World with IT

What is the role of IT in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals? Join us for a public debate on how we create a more sustainable world.

On December 5, 2014, the United Nations decided on 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.

Even though information and communication technology will be an important driver for achieving these goals, the report does not detail the role of IT in this process.

At this Open ITU, we will open a discussion on the role of IT in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, including the 169 sub-goals. To discuss this, we have gathered a researcher from ITU, a representative from the NGO Chora Connection, and an employee from IBM.

The event will be hosted by tech journalist Anders Høeg Nissen.
