Three ITU faculty awarded for excellence in teaching
At ITU’s annual party on September 29, three faculty members received ITU’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. The awards were given based on the students’ course evaluations. ITU faculty are generally ranked highly by students, according to a survey by the Ministry of Higher Education and Science from earlier this year.

The Excellence in Teaching Award is a new tradition at ITU's annual party. The recipients of the award are selected based on the students’ course evaluations, and both numerical scores and the students’ comments are taken into consideration.
This year, three lecturers - one from each of ITU's departments - received the award:
Søren Debois, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science.
Teaches the courses Security and Mobile and Distributed Systems.
Stine Gotved, Associate Professor, Department of Digital Design.
Teaches Media and Communication Theory, Thesis Preparation for Digital Design & Communication students and Social Media: Cultures and Networks.
Oliver Müller, Associate Professor, Department of Business IT.
Teaches Big Data Processes, and Digital Technology and New Business Models, Enterprise Systems and Information Management, Foundations in Development of IT and Organizing and Managing Process Innovation.
ITU faculty get top marks from students
In the spring, the Ministry of Higher Education and Science published the results of a major survey among students in higher education. In the survey, ITU faculty received top marks, especially for their commitment, communication skills, academic knowledge and ability to provide useful feedback.
Below are four statements from the survey (with ITU students’ average ranking from 1-5 in brackets):
"My teachers show engagement in their teaching" (4.3) ITU ranked 1st among the Danish universities
"My teachers are good at providing useful feedback" (4.3) ITU ranked 1st
"My teachers are academically proficient" (4.4) ITU in a shared 2nd place
"My teachers are good at communicating in their teaching" (3.8) ITU in a shared 1st place
"My instructors are easy to get in touch with" (3.7) ITU ranked 1st
