Master's reform
The Master's reform means among other things new education programmes. Read more about the programmes and how the reform will affect you.
In 2023, the framework for a reform of university education in Denmark was adopted. The master's reform means that some university students will in future be admitted to either a new shorter master's programme or an industry master's programme.
How it affects you
As a student with a bachelor's degree from ITU, you will continue to be guaranteed admission to one of ITU’s master's programmes, and the university will maintain master's programmes that directly follow on from its bachelor's programmes. You will also be able to apply for admission to other master's programmes beyond the one you are guaranteed entry to.
ITU has applied to establish two new Industry Master's programmes (120 ECTS). In the first year of the programme, industry master's students study full-time and are eligible for student grants (SU). In the second and third years, students alternate between study and employment (minimum 25 hours per week) in a company.
New programmes
The planned industry master's programmes at ITU are:
- Advanced Software Engineering
- Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence
ITU expects to receive a response to its application to establish the programmes in early 2026 and to accept applications in 2027.
The university is also working to establish collaboration agreements with major Danish companies to benefit future professional master's students.
