    Course Description
    The course aims at reading classics of the CSCW field both in terms of methodology (empirical field work is essential in CSCW-studies) and in terms of theoretical concepts. In this way the course is appropriate for PhD-students that are just starting their fieldwork and those writing it up.

    The first part of the course aims at the methodology classics and the last part at the theoretical conceptual classics (see the literature list at the end of this document). The PhD-course will focus on literature that would be expected as a basic foundation in a CSCW-graduate program. In this way the PhD-students get an opportunity to read and discuss the classics that are fundamental for further reading into the field of CSCW. For each time the participants are expected to read the full book.

    Program
    The course will take the form of a discussion group led by presentations given by participants; each time two students will lead the discussion on a text or research paper. The books are selected in advance. A list of literature is provided at the end of the document.

    Sign Up
    Each participant must submit a two-page overview of your doctoral research that describes your research question, work in progress, and expected contributions. Email to raej@itu.dk. Deadline for sign-up 28/10-2011.

    Exam
    None. Students are evaluated on participation. PhD-students can get credit by active participation and by giving 1-2 presentations depending on the number of participants.
