Course description
This course was created to illustrate some best and worst practices from presentations seen at conferences. Students becoming aware of such examples have a better chance of giving good presentations and so giving a good impression to their peers and to potential employers. Note that a good conference presentation is very similar to a good job interview presentation.br/>
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites concerning background

Program
The sessions will be organized as follow:
Day 1: A talk about what makes a good presentation is followed by illustration of many common mistakes
Day 2: Each student gives their own presentation and criticises those of others

1 ECTS

Exam
Approval or not based on individual presentations
Individual feedback is given to each student

Amount of hours the student is expected to use on the course
Participation: 8.5 hours
Preparation: 8 hours

The course is relevant for any PhD student at the IT University, the maximum number of participants is 12
