ITU  /  Programmes  /  MSc Programmes  /  Danish A-level

Admission requirement: Danish A-level

You must document that you have Danish language proficiency equivalent to Danish at A-level if you are applying for admission to Digital Innovation & Management or Digital Design and Interactive Technologies.

Danish A-level

Danish A-level is the highest obtainable level of Danish language and is equivalent of having passed a Danish upper secondary school exam.

How to document Danish A-level

  • You have passed Danish at A-level as part of a Danish upper secondary school exam (or through a supplementary course).
  • You have an upper secondary school diploma or a qualifying bachelor's degree completed in Danish, Norwegian, or Swedish.
  • You have an International Baccalaureate (IB) and can meet the requirement for Danish at A-level by having passed the subject "Danish A1 Standard Level" or "Danish B Higher Level".
  • You have a Faroese high school diploma and have passed Faroese A.You have passed the Danish Study Test ('Studieprøven i dansk'): 'Studieprøven' consists of two exams: a written and an oral. The two exams cover three parts: written production, reading comprehension, and oral communication, and all three parts must be passed with a minimum grade of 02 according to the 7-point grading scale. 'Studieprøven' is prepared by the Ministry of Education, is state-controlled, and is held twice a year.
It is estimated that it takes three years to study and pass 'Studieprøven i dansk' for applicants who has no knowledge of Danish beforehand.

You can apply without having a test beforehand

You can apply before you have completed a possible language test if you do the following:

  • Upload documentation showing that you have been called for a language test or that you are enrolled in a supplementary course. We must receive the result of your test no later than one month before the start of the study programme.
  • We only accept documentation through the Application Portal.

Non-EU/EEA citizen

If you are not an EU/EEA citizen (and need to pay tuition fees), we must receive the result of a language test/supplementary course no later than three weeks after the application deadline. The test result must be uploaded in the Application Portal. If your result does not meet the admission requirements, your admission will be cancelled.
