Admission requirements Software Design

To apply for the MSc in Software Design you need:

  • A university bachelor's degree or a professional bachelor's degree. It you hold an other comparable degree please read more here.
  • A maximum of 30 ECTS in courses related to software development. For more information read below.
  • Have English corresponding to B-level with a minimum of 3,0 in grade point average. Please read more here.

WHAT DOES "COURSES RELATED TO SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT" INCLUDE?

You can have a maximum of 30 ECTS in courses related to software development. This includes courses that involve some form of programming but also courses on theoretical aspects of software development such as algorithms or software architecture. 

HOW TO APPLY WITH A BSC FROM THE IT UNIVERSITY OF COPENHAGEN

If you have studied a bachelor's programme at ITU, you will have direct access (called legal right) to a MSc programmes. You must still apply before the deadline 1 March, but you need not upload any application material.

Which MSc programme you have legal right for, depends on when you were admitted to your bachelor's programme. Read more here.

If you have studied a BSc programme at ITU, which does not give legal right, you can apply on equal footing with applicants who have not studied a BSc from ITU. Find more information in the section below.

Please note, if you have previously been enrolled on a master level programme, without completing, it is your duty to upload a transcript together with course descriptions for the courses you passed (links or scanned documents). We must assess whether to give you a starting credit transfer on the basis of what you passed.

HOW TO APPLY IF YOU HAVE NOT STUDIED A BSC PROGRAMME AT THE IT UNIVERSITY OF COPENHAGEN

To be able to apply for the MSc programme in Software Design you need to upload the following application material. 
  • Please fill in a Statement of Purpose. The Statement of Purpose must be written in English.

Please note, if you have previously been enrolled on a master level programme, without completing, it is your duty to upload a transcript together with course descriptions for the courses you passed (links or scanned documents). We must assess whether to give you a starting credit transfer on the basis of what you passed.

HOW WE EVALUATE YOUR APPLICATION

All applications that meet specific requirements for the programme will be assessed based by an overall evaluation. Your grades will account for 50% of the evaluation, while the overall assessment of your educational background and application materials will contribute the remaining 50%.
