ITU Summer University will be open to students from other universities

The popular Summer University-programme allows ITU students to reduce the workload of the regular semester by attending courses over the summer. This year, visiting students and foreign exchange students from other universities in Denmark are invited to apply for courses at Summer University. Submit your application before May 14.

This year, for the first time, visiting students and foreign exchange students from other universities in Denmark can apply to courses at ITU’s Summer University-programme and bolster their IT capabilities by attending one of the ten courses on offer. Visiting students and foreign exchange students can apply for admittance until May 14. According to Head of Student Affairs & Programmes, Lene Rehder, the new initiative will benefit ITU students as well as the incoming visiting students:

- At ITU, we put great emphasis on collaborative work because that is typically the type of work situation students will encounter in their work lives. In your work life, you collaborate on projects with people who often have different educational backgrounds, different perspectives on problems, and different qualifications. It is important that future graduates of ITU know how to work in an interdisciplinary setting, says Lene Rehder.

The courses on offer in the Summer University catalogue have all been tailored specifically to the occasion. Among the graduate level courses, students will find courses like Applied Artificial Intelligence that takes an in-depth look at cutting edge tools in the field of artificial intelligence, design, and the process of prototyping products. In Managing Creative Projects (Ledelse af kreative produkter) students will learn to organise and manage creative projects in organisations. At the undergraduate level, students can sign up for Business and Startup Foundations aimed at introducing students to entrepreneurship, business management, and startup development.

- We received a lot of positive feedback from students attending last year’s Summer University. It is a format that works well, and we look forward to inviting in students from other universities this year. From an ITU standpoint, we get an influx of new perspectives from other degree programmes and universities, and in return we get to show others what we excel at here at ITU, says Lene Rehder.

Summer University will be held in the weeks 28 to 31 at the IT University campus. Find more information about how to sign up, what courses are on offer, and when exams are scheduled here.
