Throughout the fall semester, 83 students from the course "Digital Experience and Aesthetics" have been working on designing their own aesthetic experiences based on digital technology. The students displayed their finished projects in the Atrium and Intermedia Lab at the IT University on December 1.
"The goal of the course is that students learn about digital aesthetics through their own creative practice. I encourage everyone to come and see the imaginative installations," said course manager Susana Tosca.
Among the projects was the "The Womb Room", an installation inviting visitors to take a peek into the origin of life – complete with light and sound effects. The sensitive robot "Awesome-O" lighted up with joy or anger, depending on how visitors interacted with him, while the "Food for Thought" project visualized where our fast food really comes from.
In addition, visitors could experience generative art, virtual reality projects, games and more.
