Culture Night at ITU: Exploring the digital world
On Culture Night, the IT University of Copenhagen opens up its doors to the public with lots of exciting activities for kids and adults.
Welcome to our tech playground! Visit ITU on Culture Night and learn digital self-defense, try out Virtual Reality, talk to a robot, play computer games, catch a Pokémon and see experiments with plants and robots.
Magician Nicklas Berg and comedian Sebastian Dorset will ensure laughs for kids and grown-ups alike, and we offer free coffee, cake and lemonade all night.
Remember - you must have a valid ‘Culture Pass’ to enter. You can buy this through the official Culture Night website.
Among the experiences are:
- Stand-up show with Sebastian Dorset (8 – 8.30pm in Auditorium 1)
A funny take on the world of IT by one of the smartest comedians in Danish stand-up comedy.
- Talk: Digital self-defense (9-9.30 pm in Auditorium 1)
Our smartphones and social media like Facebook are constantly collecting data on our whereabouts and behavior. Hear a talk about digital behavior to learn what data is being collected about you - and how to protect your information online.
- Magician (6.30-7pm in Auditorium 1)
Magical Nicklas Berg does tricks and creates funny balloon animals for the kids.
- Virtual Reality
Explore new worlds in Virtual Reality! See the future, dance in space, play tennis with dinosaurs and visit new places – all the while keeping your feet at ITU. You will be able to play around with HTC Vive and Google Cardboard sets.
- Catch a Pokémon
Find out how good you are at catching Pokémon in a cool research experiment with eye tracking technology.
- Plants meet the robots
Drop by REAL Lab and discover what happens when biology and technology blend.
- Obstacle course for kids
Complete the obstacle course on the 5th floor and win a cool prize. For children aged 4-12 years.
- Sphero track
Steer a ball through the Sphero track as quickly as possible - using only a smartphone.
- Fun video games by ITU students
Take a trip into outer space, play God, or attempt to escape from a room where time does not always move forward in video games created by students from the Games program.
- Talk to a robot
Talk to another person through a remote-controlled robot.
- Build an IT sculpture
Use old computers, keyboards and cords and glue to create artistic sculptures.
- 3D printers
Watch the printers create 3D copies of small figurines.
- Classical guitar concert (7.30-8.30pm on the 5th floor)
Enjoy a relaxing concert with world-famous guitarist Bozena Wetchacz.
