Technologies in Practice
Technologies in Practice (TiP) is an interdisciplinary research group studying technologically mediated practices in organizations and everyday life.
TiP is a longstanding research group at ITU, with strong international networks and a well known national presence. The research group is led by Professor Brit Ross Winthereik.
We study IT in practice, exploring its implications for public management as much as its role in spaces of innovation, private enterprises and public-private partnerships. We are interested in the ever-changing political relations between society and technology, the hopes held for our technological futures and the work required to bring them about. Examining IT in practice means conducting fieldwork, ethnography, interviews and studies that get close to the lived experiences of IT in everyday life.
