About the Department

Business IT is organized in three interdisciplinary research groups `Technologies in Practice´, `Information Systems and Digital Innovation´ and `REFLACT´.

The groups share an interest in the socio-technical fabric of digitalization and digital transformation. Research at Business IT provides basis for reflecting on how digital technologies may be used mindfully and beneficially in the private and public sector.

Business IT offers a BSc in Global Business Informatics, a MSc in Digital Innovation & Management, and a professional part-time programme master in IT management. It hosts three research centers `Center for Digital Welfare´, `European Blockchain Center´ and `Center for Climate IT´ in addition to two academic labs `ETHOS lab´ and `BUILD lab´

Professor Steffen Dalsgaard and Assistant Professor Elisa Mekler have collectively secured almost half a million euros from the Marie Sklodowska Curie Programme to fund two postdocs working on projects in digital agriculture and affective gaming.

The Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs’ taskforce on cooperative enterprise has published a new set of recommendations for legislators to address the problem. A team of ITU researchers has been instrumental in devising the recommendations by analyzing democratic entrepreneurship in Denmark.

The Novo Nordisk Foundation is financing a one-year project aiding healthcare workers and Syrian refugees in Jordan to the tune of two million kroner. That is the conclusion drawn in a new research article entitled “We Would Never Write That Down”: Classifications of Unemployed and Data Challenges for AI published in the proceedings of the ACM on HCI (PACM HCI), as part of the leading international conference on computer supported cooperative work (CSCW 2021).
